I made this guy sometime summer of 2009. Then I got busy with Kumoricon and Halloween and set him aside. And during th course of those two events is when I got suddenly so very sick and disappeared from the internet for about half a year. But now I'm back as you may have noticed. I've got new projects and I'm also trying to finish up some of my old ones. This one was mercifully finished, it just needed to be touched up, photographed, and put up for sale. And so I have.

I crammed alot of little details into this tray:
Forefront of course is the trio. Ron has the locket horcrux dangling from his hand. Harry is wielding one wand with another in his pocket, one being his phoenix feather wand and the other the elder wand. Down by Harry's leg flutters the first snitch he ever caught. Hermione is holding the book of fairy tales Dumbledore gave her and the pink purse she enchanted.

On the left is a line of dementors climbing up to Hogwarts which sits under the dark mark. I'm pretty proud of that side of the tray.

To the left starting at the bottom are some of the pumpkins from Hagrid's garden. The dark figure of Severus Snape runs across the grounds with Malfoy in tow. Above them is Hagrid's darkened hut. To the left a bit at this level is Mr. Weasley's old Ford Anglia peeking out of the forbidden forest. And near the tree tops is a lone thestrel.

On the back of the tray is the Hogwarts crest complete with the school motto: [link]

The tray is about 14 x 11 made from lightweight balsa wood. It's meant for decoration, not to be a functional food serving tray. There's a few dings along the outer edges that were there when I got the tray. Balsa's a very soft wood and craft store folk aren't always gentle with the merchandise. There's also some odd blue speckles on the back. Those didn't show up till I varnished the tray so I'm not sure if it's the wood or the varnish that's too blame.
